Tim receiving the Trophy from Marion

Tim writes:  This aqueduct is near a town in Portugal called Tomar. It was built between 1593 and 1614 so it is certainly not Roman. This part of it was extended from Tomar to supply water to the Convent of Christ (well worth a visit if you are in the country). Access to the top of the aqueduct is via stairs leading to a sedimentation tank enclosure built into the aqueduct at regular intervals (to filter out debris from the water). You can just about make out another one at the far end of the aqueduct in the picture. Once you are up there you can climb out on the walkway on the side of the aqueduct which I think was built to allow maintenance.  Bit hairy in places (probably an understatement), but great views along the structure.

Pinner Camera Club is a small friendly club where members share their enthusiasm for all things photographic.  Whether you are a beginner, or a more seasoned enthusiast, you will be made very welcome.

Our aims are to maximise members’ enjoyment of photography and to improve their skills through regular stimulating meetings.  Click on our programme to get a flavour of our activities and have a look through our various galleries to see samples of members’ images.  Some will have been taken with top of the range DSLRs, some with the increasingly popular mirrorless cameras and yes, some will have been taken with smart phones.

Meetings are held on Monday nights at 8.00 PM at Fairfield Church, Windsor Close, Northwood Hills, HA6 1PD.  See our Programme page for details and to find out more please email us at:
